Les joies d'un climat continental humide

I’m a bit lost on harvest time… How does it work outdoors? If I go by some information found on the web, I should harvest it, while others tell me 3 to 5 weeks!!! Nights are very close to the freezing point here and the mac one is big and heavy to move, help me!!!

Look at the trichomes with a magnifying glass or microscope; when 90% of the heads are white, it’s ready. Then you’ll get a Sativa high; if about 20% of them turn an amber color, you’ll get an Indica high. Look at the buds in the middle to see how far along it is; if you check at the top, it’s usually not ready at the bottom. Only check the buds and not the sugar leaves, as these are ready earlier and tell you nothing about the harvest.

Thanks! So mid-October I should be able to harvest them if the buds have more amber. I know the climate doesn’t help here but I don’t have a light, how can I fix the moving problem!!! It is very heavy!!!

I had a small cart that I could tow my plants around the yard in one year, that saved my back when moving was absolutely necessary

Thanks for the advice!! I really have no choice but to bring them inside at night!

Guys… I’m in mourning tonight! A friend had told me that if at the end of the season your plant has spider mites / mites :spider: especially when you’re growing outdoors: you’re screwed!

This morning Bob ( mac one ) seemed nice and green as usual, plus today was a pretty warm autumn day! Coming back from work, I found that the bottom leaves had yellowed pretty quickly. Total panic when I discovered that the underside of the fan leaves had black dots and other red ones underneath :scream::scream::scream:!! There are way too many for me to just cut off the leaves :face_exhaling: I’m a bit discouraged!

Given the risk of autumn mold and the probable infestation and maybe losing part of the fruit of my hard labor, I made the decision to harvest it tomorrow! In any case, I think I did a good job but above all learned lots of tips and tricks with the community . :green_heart: I still have my big city light left which doesn’t seem infested! They are far from each other , a very good thing

I would have done that too
Shame to harvest early, but if it’s too much to fight :face_with_peeking_eye:
Are the buds still smokeable and okay then?

Répondre ↗

In my opinion yes, no visible webbing but I’m not taking any chances, I’m cutting it tonight!

Hi guys! Right now I’m torn, some say to cut the plant, leave the branches on it, and dry it. Others say you should cut the branches and dry them?! What is the best method in your opinion?

Répondre ↗

If enough air can circulate during drying, you can dry the whole plant. Keep in mind that the branches will bend and lie / hang closer together as they dry. If it grew too dense, cut off the shoots and hang them individually.

Before I got the vcure I would hang the whole plant in my tent set to 60°f/60rh with indirect airflow. Typically takes 12-14 days to be ready to trim and cure.

I think overall it depends on the size of the plant whether to hang it whole or as individual branches.
Since it’s already a bit larger, I would hang it in individual branches and always leave a bit of space, not much, but so air can pass through.
Remove all larger leaves, and if you have a pest infestation, I recommend washing the buds.
Tap water around 20 degrees is suitable for this.
10 l with 4 tbsp baking soda and 6 tbsp liquid lemon juice.
Besides that, another 2 x 5 l of water for rinsing.
Gently swish the branches with buds in each container of water for a few seconds, starting in the baking soda solution.
After each dip, gently shake them out and hang them up.
This removes pests and their poop.
It’s a bit of work, but it’s worth it.
Best regards

A quick update on my Big City Light… it has bugs too, but it’s under control!:upside_down_face:
In my opinion there’s 1 to 2 weeks left… what do you think? I’d like to get your opinion
