Glorious problems hahaha!

These gorgeous girls germinated June 20th (Except the little one in the back…that was three bad seeds…sad panda.). That’s a little over 9 weeks. They are gonna need some trimming soon if I wanna keep ANY space for them. And to think I almost did 5 plants instead of 4!!!

This is a relatively new realm for me, figuring out what to clip and what not to at this stage. Any thoughts?

I see brown spots at the bottom of the plant in picture 5. I would almost say it’s a CalMag deficiency. But I don’t know your fertilizer schedule, nor the fertilizer used.

Regarding pruning, I remove leaves that lie on others / contact surfaces to avoid the accumulation of condensation, as this can otherwise create breeding grounds for pathogens. Otherwise, from bottom to top, when the nutrients have been relocated and they wilt. Shortly before switching to flowering, I do a major defoliation, the next on day 21 of flowering (after the stretch) and, depending on the situation, once again on day 45 of flowering.

You are correct, I had an issue with the tubing for my watering system where nutrients were held up a bit. After I straightened it, the plant continued to take off. I did clip the low leaves as I saw them, and will still clip them as I see them.

I appreciate the advice on which leaves to cut, it does make sense. Bottom to top. How much density should I leave: enough for light and air flow, or enough for buds to form later?

For pruning I typically clear the bottom 3rd or more completely, nothing stays. Then for the upper I take out leaves towards the center that just block airflow and don’t get enough light to be productive. I do this so when I look from the side I can see through most of it. Then I look top down and remove any leaf blocking a potential bud site. I do this about a week before flower. The 21 days after flip I repeat this process and remove any small side shoots that just haven’t made it to the top if that makes sense.
