:mega: **La comunidad ahora se traduce automáticamente en 5 idiomas** :earth_americas::sparkles:

Hello Growlings!
We want to share some news: all forum posts and comments are now automatically translated into the 5 most used languages in our community: \\English, Spanish, German, Portuguese, and French\\.

We will continue to maintain regional spaces, because we know how valuable it is to connect with people who are physically close.

But at the same time, we want to \\invite and welcome multicultural and multilingual participation\\, so that no one is left out and every exchange contributes to this global space.

We are very interested in your experience:

\- Have you noticed it in your interactions?

\- What do you think of this new tool?

\- What else could we improve to make the community increasingly inclusive and accessible?

Thank you for continuing to build this space with us.

Happy Growing!

Such an amazing addition I always wanted to check in on other posts from around the world and this makes it so much easier thank you

I noticed this a couple of days ago when all of a sudden I didn’t have to copy and paste for translation. It’s one of the best improvements I have seen to what we have here. It’s nice being able to understand more of what Is being said and knowing that we might be able to help out more is great.

Same here and just checked German channel and seems to translate well to English. I love the new doors this just opened up for the community

This is really great, everyone
Happy 420 to everyone around the world

It’s annoying, where can I turn it off? I don’t need a translator and I don’t like AI. I speak fluent English and I’m so annoyed by the automatic translation that I no longer read the English-speaking threads. I want to read in the original.

Add a switch.

Hey! I understand what you mean, it took me a while to get used to it at first, but now I value the tool much more. I asked the team if it’s possible to disable the translator, I’ll get back to you as soon as I have an answer.

I think the forum, like almost every forum, is written in PHP/MySQL; a few lines of code and it’s toggleable. I myself hardcoded my former forum years ago according to my needs, I don’t think much of plugins.

Hi snake!

The option to deactivate translations is already available in the frontend! You can find it top right in the desktop version or bottom right on mobile, here’s a couple screenshots showing:

Hah I also remember when everything was just some PHP+MySQL, those were the days. This is actually based on Ruby. Not that it makes any difference .

Hope this helps!

I guess this doesn’t work on the website.

It does! care to tell us more about the issue? I’ve tested Safari as well. But not every message is translated yet, we are moving slowly while we test it out. Only 20 days old (or less) messages are being translated atm.

You will see this little icon if it’s translated:

Opened via the app in Chrome, there’s nothing there.

I’ll drop you a pm!

On the page. Where we are right now, at the very bottom
Not in the profile, but where you are currently reading what is being translated for you.

That’s where the button is.
Not on the main page.
Not in the settings.

Click the button

Ah, so it isn’t an on-demand translation, that explains it. I only looked at one post, the one that always shows in the new activity list, Zeigt her eure Lady’s. Probably isn’t browser related. Thanks for the explanation!

Edit: I looked at the latest entries in that thread and they have indeed been translated. Cool!
