First of all, welcome to the community @David99 . If I see correctly, it is turning yellow from top to bottom. If that is the case, you have a pH problem in the substrate, which means that it cannot absorb nutrients. In that case, the substrate should be flushed.
However, if you are close to harvest, I would just finish it like this, which would save you the trouble.
Question, do you have a magnifying glass with about 60x magnification? A microscope would be better, but not strictly necessary right now. Look at the trichomes, if they are milky (90%), it would be ready for harvest. That would be a Sativa high; if you have about 20% amber color in there, it would be an Indica high. You know best what you prefer.
Hey, as the other comment already describes, I would also guess a pH level or CalMag deficiency, leaning towards a magnesium deficiency.
If you use CalMag, I would lean more towards the pH level.
Your plant needs at least one to two more weeks.
A little tip: Remove a bud and look at the trichomes inside. You can also do it without removing it by pulling the bud apart a bit.
Personally, I don’t go directly by the head buds, for example, but rather by the ones underneath. When those are ready, the head buds are definitely done for sure. ![]()
It would be important to know whether you measure EC and pH levels, what fertilizer and soil you use, and which plant it is. Then we might be able to address the symptoms even more specifically.
My humble opinion.
Potassium and Magnesium are essential for the fattening phase!!?!
A nutrient deficiency accelerates the consumption of nutrients from the largest leaves. The plant starts consuming energy from the lower large leaves. So I lean more towards a mineral salt lock-out!!? More is not always less… and it could even be a Nitrogen deficiency in the soil!!! I would do a root flush with an addition of Microbes… taking into account that that plant has 3 weeks left ahead, and is still in the fattening phase!!? if you still have the possibility to add a PK it would do it a lot of good!!? to then finish with the Ripening phase.
Kind regards to everyone !!?! BEST OF LUCK WITH YOUR GROWS ![]()
Looking at the pictures, to me it looks more like too much nitrogen rather than too little. The leaves are dark green and shiny like wax. An oversupply of nitrogen doesn’t just cause the deep dark color, but can also lead to the exact problem visible in the pictures. Too much nitrogen can affect or block the uptake of other important nutrients, especially magnesium, calcium, and potassium.
Of course, it could also be due to the pH. An unfavorable pH can also prevent certain nutrients from being absorbed properly, even though they are actually present in the substrate.
If it’s a lockout, I wouldn’t dump in additional PK fertilizer. More nutrients could make the problem worse if the cause really is an oversupply or a pH issue.
If you’re willing to put in the effort, with mineral nutrients I’d consider flushing and then feeding moderately afterwards. With organic growing, I’d be more cautious with that and check the cause or pH first before continuing to feed moderately. In my opinion, she definitely still needs another two to three weeks and it would probably still be worth it. Just for the better taste alone, if you ask me. ![]()
Usually, with over-fertilization, the leaves tend to behave differently: an intense green color with burned and curled tips of the leaflets!! In this case, I notice a plant that is yellowing entirely from the bottom
to the top
… from the inside out!!! Important: Read the Comments completely before commenting on advice or an opinion ![]()
Since my advice is based on a good root flush… and since that plant is still in the fattening phase, a PK boost after the root flush!! or are you calling the plant done, 3 weeks away from finishing its full life cycle? WARM REGARDS
I LOVE THIS EXCHANGE OF POSSIBLE DEFICIENCIES.
Of course, you’re getting different answers because we’re still missing some information. First, we need to know if you’ve been using any nutrients or fertilizers. If so, what kind, how much, and when?
It would also help to know how the yellowing started. Did it begin at the tips or around the edges of the leaves? Did it start at the bottom and move up, from the top down, or did the whole plant start yellowing at once?
With that information, you’ll probably get a much more accurate answer.
